Velour towels
Towels with a smooth, velvet-like sheared face on one side and absorbent terry loops on the other.
Photos show typical constructions. Your order is woven to your own specification.
Velour is made by shearing the tips of the pile loops after weaving. The cut face takes print and embroidery cleanly and shows colour at its deepest, while the uncut back does the drying.
We shear in our own mill, so pile height and finish are controlled alongside the weaving.

Questions buyers ask
Does velour absorb as well as terry?
The sheared face absorbs a little less than uncut loops, which is why velour is sheared on one side only. The terry side does the drying.
